Job Description

Summary:

Responsible for administering and coordinating the Bank’s Compliance Risk Management financial crimes data and analytics program through data governance, collection, monitoring, and reporting; Assists other compliance specialty groups in ensuring adherence to financial crimes requirements; Interfaces with first line of defense business/operating units.


Primary Duties and Responsibilities include:

  • Independently performs day-to-day administration and coordination of the financial crimes data collection/reporting/analytics process such as import auditing, data testing, upgrade validations and model/methodology parameters reviews.
  • Oversee the deployment and integration of technology systems designed to address financial crime risks.
  • Maintains technical procedures for the second line of defense related to financial crimes data collection and reporting.
  • Reviews technical procedures for the first line of defense related to financial crimes data collection and reporting; providing recommendations for improvement where needed.
  • Serves as system administrator for financial crimes related software and tools, as well as other compliance related software and tools as assigned.
  • Prepares presentations, reports, and dashboards summarizing performance for use by Executive Management, the Board of Directors, and regulators.
  • Monitors and analyzes developing trends and changes in regulations relating to financial crimes data and analytics and other regulations as applicable for determining and advising on implications on the bank's operations and activities.
  • Collaborates with management and the first line of defense on data governance best practices and efficiencies for financial crimes data analytics.
  • Participates in financial crimes and other compliance projects, groups and initiatives as needed.
  • Assists in the preparation of data and reporting for coordination of risk assessments, regulatory examinations, independent compliance audits, and second line of defense compliance testing engagements.
  • Provides back-up support for other Compliance Risk Management Team specialty group when needed due to deadlines and/or absences.
  • Communicates effectively with colleagues on the Compliance Risk Management Team, first line of defense business partners, Executive Management, internal and external auditors, and regulators.
  • Adheres to all designated time frames, manages workflow to the specified deadlines and completes responsibilities in a satisfactory manner.
  • Completes all job-related training and continuing education in a timely manner, and attends seminars or continuing education, as directed.
  • Performs any other assignments as directed by the Chief Compliance Officer and/or the SVP, Compliance Risk Data and Analytics Director.

Qualifications:

  • To perform this job successfully, an expert-level knowledge of regulatory requirements in the financial crimes (BSA/AML/CIP/CDD/EDD/BO/OFAC et al.) space.

Education and/or Experience :

  • A Bachelor’s Degree is preferred.
  • A minimum of 5 years of financial crimes banking experience required.
  • Expert knowledge of financial crimes regulatory monitoring required.
  • Familiarity with bank products and services required.
  • Prior compliance experience at a large bank preferred.
  • Association of Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialists (ACAMS) highly preferred.
  • Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) preferred, or similar compliance certification.
  • Experience working as an examiner and/or compliance consultant will be taken into consideration when determining prior intermediate-level compliance requirements have been met.
  • Prior experience with 314a and 314b procedures preferred.
  • Prior experience with Cash Transactions Report procedures preferred.
  • Prior experience with CTR Exemption Review procedures preferred.
  • Prior experience with Foreign Currency Transactions procedures preferred.
  • Prior experience with Legal Document Tracking procedures preferred.
  • Prior experience with Monetary Instrument Cash Review procedures preferred.
  • Prior experience with Currency Exchange Review procedures preferred.
  • Prior experience with No TIN Report procedures preferred.
  • Prior experience with Transaction Monitoring procedures preferred.
  • Prior experience with Financial Crimes Risk Management OFAC Screening procedures preferred.
  • Prior experience with 314a and 314b procedures preferred.


Computer Skills:

  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should have an intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Ability to learn bank-specific software. Ability to use basic office machines.
