- Preparation and review of Traffic Impact Analyses (TIA).
- Representation at Public Hearings to support TIAs.
- Conducting traffic signalization, Signing and Pavement Marking, ITS and safety technology designs.;
- Investigate accident data and evaluate changes to improve traffic safety and operations on existing roadways.
- Improvement of safety for bicycle and pedestrian facilities on roadways or stand alone trails.
- Preparing engineering reports to document the findings and recommendations of traffic engineering;
- Conducting field reviews to identify safety and operational issues;
- Developing improvements to enhance safety and traffic flow;
- Preparing conceptual improvement drawings;
- Work collaboratively with other engineering disciplines, and remote staff to deliver work products on time, within budget.
- Manage staff including other traffic engineers on the above services.
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
- Professional Engineer License preferred or working toward certification.
- Knowledge of FDOT's policies/procedures related to traffic engineering and familiarity with associated reference manuals such as MUTS Manual, Traffic Engineering Manual, Highway Capacity Manual, MUTCD, and Highway Safety Manual, etc.;
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
- Must possess a valid driver's license.
