Cellar Worker, Far Niente Wine Estates

  Founded in Oakville, California in 1885 and restored in 1979, Far Niente is consistently recognized as a benchmark producer of Napa Valley Chardonnay and Oakville Estate Cabernet Sauvignon.

Our team is expanding to support our growing portfolio. Our Cellar Worker, level I will perform cellar operations under the direction of the Cellar Master and cellar team leaders.

You will be successful in this role while performing these essential responsibilities:

• Under limited supervision, perform and complete all cellar operations including barrel work, topping, wine additions, S02 additions, and sanitation of winery equipment.
• Assist team leader or other cellar workers as directed with winery operations including grape receival, racking, crushing, pressing, and bottling.
• Operate winery machinery as needed after appropriate safety instruction including but not limited to pumps, steamer, ozone generator, S02 dispenser, barrel filler, and forklifts.
• Under supervision, assist in the operation of winery filters including crossflow, sterile membrane and reverse osmosis.
• Review and be familiar with all FN production procedures. Alert Cellar Master or Winemaker if a procedure does not reflect current practices.

You will be qualified for this role if you met these requirements:

• 1 to 3 years of directly related experience.
• Ability to calculate figures.
• Ability to communicate effectively in the predominately used language.
• Ability to lift and move 50 lbs.
• Ability to stand, stoop, kneel, ascend, and descend stairs.
